Breakdown of the Project

20ft new ‘one trip’ shipping container converted for use as a control room on a weighbridge site in South Wales. ��

The container double doors were removed and panelled in with corrugation to match the rest of the shipping container exterior. We fitted a personnel access door, various windows along one side and the end. One window was slide opening to exchange paperwork with drivers. ��

The container was lined��with 9mm melamine lining and��insulated��with 50mm rockwool insulation��internally and fitted with an internal partition��with a standard office door��to keep the control room area and reception area separate. Internal surface mounted electrics were fitted throughout to customer specification��including 3no. strip lights and numerous double sockets.��

Conversion breakdown

• 1no. 20ft new ‘one trip’ shipping containers – 20ft x 8ft x 8ft 6”.
  • Cargo doors were removed and replaced with a new corrugated panel.
• 1no. steel 10-point personnel door was installed in the centre of the rear 8ft corrugated panel
  • Dressed with50mm box section.
• 4no. windows were installed along the right-hand side 20ft corrugated panel.
  • Split between the 3no. windows to 1 no. (2 separate rooms).
  • Dressed with 50mm box section.
  • 3no. fixed windows were installed with 1no of the windows was a sliding window.
• 1no. window was installed the new corrugated panel.
  • Dressed with 50mm box section.
• Internally the container was lined with 9mm melamine lining.
  • Over 50mm rockwool insulation.
• Internal partition between the 2 rooms with single service door with glass.
• Electrical installation installed.
  • Surface mounted electrics.
  • 3no. strip lights.
  • 5no. double sockets.
• Externally the container was painted light grey.
